Where should stainless steel check valve be installed

Stainless steel check valve, also known as check valve, is an automatic valve that relies on the pressure of the flowing medium in the pipeline to close and open the valve. When the medium stops flowing, the stainless steel check valve closes to prevent the medium from flowing back in the pipeline, playing a significant role

The installation of stainless steel check valves is to ensure the internal water flow of the pump and ensure the normal operation of the pump. Therefore, whether the installation position of stainless steel check valves can be installed in front of or behind the pump depends on the detailed situation

There are two common methods: one is to install it at the end of the longitudinal suction pipe in front of the pump, and the other is to install the pump with the liquid level higher than the pump. This method is commonly used for secondary water supply. As the liquid level is higher than the pump, the pump valve does not need to be closed when starting the pump, so a stainless steel check valve must be installed behind the pump.

To repair a stainless steel check valve, it is necessary to install a stainless steel check valve at the pump outlet and in front of the outlet control valve. The first outlet of a regular pump is a soft connection (shock absorber, followed by a stainless steel check valve, and then a globe valve (such as butterfly valve, gate valve, globe valve, etc.)

The installation method and advantages and disadvantages of stainless steel check valves

1. Before installing gate or butterfly valves, install stainless steel check valves

Advantages: It can protect stainless steel check valves. Especially in parallel pumps, when one pump cannot start, the impact force is borne by the gate valve or butterfly valve when the other pump starts

Disadvantage: Who protects gate valves or stainless steel check valves? The valve of a butterfly valve is prone to damage

2. First install the gate valve or butterfly valve, then install the stainless steel check valve

Advantages: It can protect butterfly or gate valves, and the impact force depends on the stainless steel check valve.
Disadvantages: Who protects the stainless steel check valve? The stainless steel check valve switches by pressure difference. High pressure will cause high pressure to open the pump, and unstable flow rate will repeatedly switch the stainless steel check valve, affecting its service life

Installation precautions for stainless steel check valves

1. In the pipeline system, stainless steel check valves should be independently supported to avoid being affected by the pressure generated by the pipeline system

2. The direction of medium flow during installation must be consistent with the arrow direction displayed on the valve body

3. The vertical stainless steel check valve of the elevator should be installed on the vertical pipeline

4. The stainless steel check valve for the horizontal flap of the elevator should be installed on the horizontal pipeline
