The corrosion resistance of stainless steel elbows depends on chromium, but because chromium is one of the components of steel, protection methods are not the same. When the chromium content reaches 10.5%, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of the alloy elbow is significantly increased, but the corrosion resistance is still improved when the chromium content is higher, but it is not obvious.The reason is that alloying steel with chromium changes the type of surface oxide to be similar to that formed on pure chromium metals. This tightly adhering chromium-rich oxide protects the surface from further oxidation.This oxide layer is extremely thin, through which you can see the natural shine on the surface of the stainless steel elbow, giving the elbow a unique surface.Moreover, if the surface is damaged, the exposed steel surface will react with the atmosphere to repair itself, reforming the oxide "passivation film" and continuing its protective role.

Therefore, all alloy elbow elements have a common characteristic, that is, chromium content of 10.5% or more.
Stainless steel elbow resistant to air, steam, water and other weak corrosive media and acid, alkali, salt and other chemical corrosive media corrosion of steel. In practice, the steel that is resistant to weak corrosive medium is often called stainless steel alloy elbow, and the steel that is resistant to chemical medium is called acid resistant steel. Due to the difference in chemical composition, the former is not necessarily resistant to chemical media corrosion, while the latter generally have no rust. Stainless steel alloy elbows are resistant to corrosion, pitting, rust or wear. Stainless steel is still one of the strength materials in metal materials used in construction.
